Victory In Christ
Welcome to the Run To Win Blog! In order to set the stage for the purpose of this blog, we wanted to first share the message and mission of Run To Win. As many of you have been a part of our story, you are aware of who we are and what we do. But for those who haven’t, here are the highlights:
· Founded in 1992 by Mike and Karen Rohrbach (see the “about” page for bios: https://www.runtowin.org/about/).
· Mission: To share Christ through sports.
· We have around 90 sports camps each year and reach 5,000 kids.
· Other areas of ministry include: chaplaincy program for local sports teams, public speaking in the community, events, building relationships, memorial services, etc.
In each of our areas of ministry we aim to share a message of faith, hope and love (1 Cor. 13:13) which is also our purpose for this blog. We want to use this as an opportunity to share the gifts God has blessed us with, connect with people in order to build relationships and build the Kingdom in our community.
This past year, our summer camp theme was Victory. Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 15:57 “…but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” When it comes to athletics, we always want to be victorious. We want to experience the reward of all our hard work and see it in the results of our Win and Loss column. Jesus came to show us that the ultimate victory was in Him and His life, death, and resurrection. It is this message we build our ministry from. To be those who are pointing others to Jesus in all that we do. So, as we go on this journey together, know that Jesus has already won the victory and is fighting for you every day!
